Should a Christian date or marry someone who is not a virgin?

Started by BlackRose , July 1, For myself, I could never even think of dating someone who isn’t a virgin. I personally see it as getting the shorter end of the stick and I would rather be alone. I recognise that there are other things to consider when deciding to date and therefore marry a person like faith, integrity, faithfulness, ability to raise children, views on controversial topics etc but the way I see it is, if we can’t get over the first hurdle then the others don’t matter. This excludes faith though, they must be Christian first and foremost. I think jealousy does play a massive role in this. But if you can I think that’s great tbh since it does increase the pool of people to choose from haha. Personality is super important. I would have shut down so quickly if they were rude or lazy, I just can’t stand people like that haha. Hygiene should be a given, if people don’t have good hygiene, that’s a turnoff no matter how many of the other boxes you tick tbh.

Waiting until marriage to have sex may sound like an antiquated custom, but you may be surprised to learn that abstinence is still practiced today. According to Waiting Till Marriage , an organization that supports abstinence before marriage , around three percent of the United States population waits until they are married to have sex. While it’s true that this percentage is small compared to those who don’t wait, there’s still around ten million “waiters” right here in America.

Some of the biggest myths , as pointed out by Waiting Till Marriage, is the thinking that “normal” and “attractive” people don’t wait to have sex, or that those who are abstinent are asexual or have a “lower-than-normal sex drive. Keep on reading. Jett V. Krista M.

Whatever the case, this discussion is worth having because the sexual perspective we bring to marriage can either strengthen or destroy that precious relationship.

Sex is an intimate and vulnerable act. The covenant of marriage is designed to guard our sexuality, protecting it from misuse. When we take sex out of its designated context, it has the power to separate us from God through sin. But where sexual sin has been committed, God offers hope.

No sin—sexual or otherwise—is too far beyond His forgiveness. All we must do is come to Him in repentance, acknowledging that what was done was not in accordance with His expectations for holy living. Has he repented of it? Does he acknowledge it as sin?
